Warren Buffett is credited with saying that his preferred length of time for owning a stock is forever. To give credit where credit is due, the Oracle of Omaha does put his money where his mouth is.
This illustrates a key point about successful dividend investing. You have to play the long game. Over time, stocks that pay dividends will outperform those that don’t. But you have to pick the right stocks.
